10 til 2

How the 10 til 2 Business Works

You turn on the lights of your home-based office eager to start another day knowing you are going to make people happy. You check your answering machine for messages from after-hours yesterday. There is a message from an architect seeking a 20-hour a week bookkeeper; her CPA gave her your number. There is also a call from “Sarah” who is just touching base to tell you how happy she is in her new part-time job as office manager for a real estate broker. Yes, it’s going to be a good day at your 10 til 2 business.

After returning the architect’s call for the requirements for her part-time bookkeeping position and emailing the staffing agreement, it’s time to take a look at new candidate resumes. You open the 10 til 2 proprietary database for a report showing all new applicants in the last 2 days. Knowing that the database is filled with thousands of men and women looking to optimize their work/life balance allows you to be comfortable knowing that you have a candidate for any possible position. It’s a great feeling, knowing that with every placement you make, you are easing the stress of someone’s life.

Last week you mailed the first of your introductory business letters, introducing the 10 til 2 concept to businesses in your territory. It’s time to call some potential clients, construction firms, real estate offices, not-for-profits, financial organizations and many more. These are a few of the potential clients who are thrilled to know that you can find that perfect person to fill a job that is just not getting done because of a lack of staff. Even more exciting, they learn that you can fill the job at a reasonable rate.

On to staffing, your favorite time of day. Open the 10 til 2 proprietary database. A financial planner is looking for someone with MS office skills, bookkeeping skills, good phone etiquette and someone who is a self-starter. He wants candidates to be available to work from 10:00am til 2:00pm, five days a week in your territory. Input all the criteria into the system and hit the Available Candidates option, the 10 til 2 system pops out a list of the most likely candidates for this job. You take a few minutes to look at all the resumes and phone the candidates that you think will be best suited for the job. The reason you like this part best is that you get to tell someone about a great opportunity and get to ask them about themselves. You listen, ask questions, and get to know these people. More often than not, the answer you get is “I would be perfect for that job, sure, please submit my resume. I’m so excited about the opportunity!” Email the resumes to the client for review and possible interview selection.

You will fill this job and others that come in today. Your clients will be elated with the quality of the candidates you send them. The candidates will be thrilled about finding work with a company that appreciates their skills and offers flexibility. You know that you are backed up by 10 til 2 corporate team, providing expertise in marketing, as well as expertise in all aspects of running a staffing service. With your skills in establishing and maintaining relationships, you know your business will thrive.

Yes, it’s going to be another great day at 10 til 2.

How part-time placement service works

"I had the idea for a 10 til 2 business years ago when I was looking for a part-time position in a professional field. When I found out about 10 til 2 in Denver, I felt very strongly that I needed to bring this family friendly business to Indianapolis. 10 til 2 provides an excellent solution to many people’s problem of finding part-time employment in professional fields. In turn, employers are getting dedicated, college-educated employees which results in a win-win situation for everyone. I’m very excited about providing this service in Indianapolis. The training and support that I have received has been awesome."
